GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
In accordance with the General Provisions for Study, undergraduate students need to complete Service Learning program, pass the tests of university-wide basic English competencies, Information Technology, Chinese, Sports, and the core competencies test of their department to be eligible for graduation.
Undergraduate students need to pass the core competencies of the department during the study years. The mandatory items and qualified standards are:
(1) the competency of design innovation: to participate at least once either national or international design competition (qualified competition by the department).
(2)The competency of design presentation and exhibition: except senior students, the freshman, sophomore and junior students need to participate the department exhibition each semester.
(3)The practical competency of product design: students need to complete a〝Graduation Project Design〞, to get the work published in the graduation portfolio and to participate the graduation exhibition held by the department.
Product designer
After graduation, most students are eligible to join the research & de-velopment divisions or the product industrial design division in do-mestic or international firms to do innovative product design or de-velopment, and apply what they learned to de-sign products fit cus-tomer needs and create profit and opportunities for the companies.
Product planner
Students who are inter-ested in product planning can join the product mar-keting division of various industries to do customer demand analysis, pricing, product competitiveness analysis, product posi-tioning, cost analysis, and etc.
Teacher
Students who want to ex-tend in research can do design related teaching and research in colleges or design specific cram schools.
User Interface designer
After trained related pro-gram, student will be ca-pable of interactive art creation, interactive ex-hibit design, gaming, product interface design in digital media, electronics, and internet companies.
Exhibits designer
Equipped with exhibit design, marketing, and computer proficiency, students can do exhibit design related jobs in the retail store or profes-sional exhibition compa-nies.
Furniture designer
Furniture designer is a profession to apply craft-ing and aesthetics to fur-niture design based on interior space usage, en-vironment, and customer demand. Major tasks are design concept creation, design, prototyping, product assembly illustra-tion, and product fabrica-tion process defining.
